Last updated: 12 September 2026. These terms govern your use of psychwit.com. By using the site, you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the site.
PsychologyWit is published by [CONTROLLER FULL NAME]. You can reach us at contact@psychologywit.com. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean the publisher, and “you” means anyone using the site.
This is not professional advice
PsychologyWit publishes general writing about psychology, emotional wellbeing and personal development. It is written for a general audience and is not medical, psychological, psychiatric, diagnostic or therapeutic advice. It is not a substitute for speaking to a qualified professional who knows your situation, your history and your circumstances, none of which an article can know.
Reading this site does not create a therapist–client, clinician–patient or any other professional relationship between you and us. Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read here.
Any self-assessments, quizzes or scored exercises on this site exist to prompt reflection. They are not validated clinical instruments, they have not been tested for diagnostic accuracy, and a result is not a diagnosis of anything.
If you are in crisis, or you think you may be at risk of harming yourself or someone else, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline in your country now. This site cannot help you in an emergency and is not monitored for them.
Using the site
You may read, link to, quote briefly with attribution, and share our articles for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please do not use the site in any way that is unlawful, that interferes with anyone else using it, or that attempts to gain access to parts of it that are not public.
Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the articles, images, design and code on this site belong to us or to our licensors. You may not republish, redistribute, sell, rent, sub-license or reproduce substantial parts of the site without written permission. Short quotations with a clear credit and a link back are welcome and do not need permission.
Comments and contributions
Where comments are open, you remain responsible for what you post, and what you post represents you and not us. We do not review comments before they appear, so their presence on the site is not our endorsement of them.
By posting, you confirm that the comment is yours to post, that it infringes nobody’s rights, and that it is not defamatory, abusive, obscene, misleading, or an invasion of anyone’s privacy. Please do not use comments to advertise, and please do not post other people’s personal or health information.
You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display, store and moderate your comment on the site. We may remove or edit any comment, at our discretion, and we may close comments on any article.
Comments are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, we send you the material you signed up for and occasional new posts. You can unsubscribe from any email, at any time, using the link in it. We will not sell or rent your address.
Links to other sites
We link to studies, books, tools and other sites where they are useful. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
Availability and changes
We publish this site as a personal project, free of charge. We do not promise that it will always be available, that it will be error-free, or that any particular article will stay online. We may add, change or remove content at any time.
We take accuracy seriously and correct mistakes when we find them, but psychology is a moving field and we cannot warrant that everything here is complete, current or applicable to you.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected by anything on this page.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site, or from any decision you take on the basis of something you read here.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which we are established, and the GDPR and other EU consumer protection law apply to this site. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country’s law, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
